This is a charming scroll saw model of an antique car. It was published in 1906 by Hobbies magazine as a Special fretwork design. The model has been entirely redrawn in
the computer to correct the inaccuracies of the original hand-drawn design. Thus, the
version we present here is a flawless project that any scroller can enjoy confidently knowing that
all the pieces will fit accurately.
Large pieces (the floor and one of the side pieces) are presented splitted in two pieces. Depending on the
scale you apply to the pattern and the size of your scroll saw you may prefer to put together some of these pieces
and cut them as a single piece, to strengthen the project. When possible the cutting lines are hidden
behind other pieces.
The pattern has been
designed to use 3/16 inches (main thickness) and 3/8 inches wood. By scaling the pattern appropriately
any other wood thickness can also be used. These are the dimensions of the car depending on the wood thickness you use:
