This
is an alluring art nouveau wall cabinet. The cabinet is in the
center and three shelves on each side complete the design. Its
ornamentation is fully in art nouveau style. It contains a large
number of different leaves and flowers, and a curious tiger in the
lower part. The door of the cabinet contains a beautiful fretworked
panel showing a lady in a garden.
This is a pattern completely reconstructed after an old
Italian masterpiece design.
The largest piece is
divided in sections that can be cut separately and assembled easily
with the help of dovetail joints. The joints of these sections,
though discrete, are nevertheless almost completely covered by the
six side shelves. Besides the long time required to complete a
project like this, its construction has no particular difficulty.
The patterns have been designed to use 1/4 and 1/8 inches wood or 6
and 3 mm wood. Even so, the design would look terrific in larger
size. This can be attained easily by scaling the patterns
appropriately. These are the dimensions of the cabinet depending on
the wood thickness you use:

This
picture has been sent by Paolo Cantonetti from Italy: "This project
has taken me more time than usual, a bit more than one month,
because the work is quite delicate, especially due to the dimensions
of the project. The wood used is popplar plywood of 3 and 6 mm, dyed
in two colours, everything has been cut entirely with a hand saw".
