This is a pattern of a grandiose birdcage of French origin in
victorian style. The proportions of the original project were impressive, around
180 cm (71 inches) tall without the spire. During the restoration I have adapted
it so that it can be made in different sizes without compromising the final
quality. You will have to calculate the largest scale you can work with your
tools before starting. The original birdcage had two doors but this is of course
easy to modify. When properly completed the result is difficult to describe with
words. I can imagine it decorating a large victorian greenhouse.
The pattern is printed to make the birdcage with 1/8 inches wood or
with 3 mm wood, but of course it can be resized at will. This table gives the dimensions of the birdcage depending on the wood
thickness you use:
