Finescrollsaw256 - Queen Elizabeth II |
|
This scroll saw pattern features a panel portraying Queen Elizabeth II. It is impressively large, measuring 56.9 cm wide by 79.3 cm tall (22.4 x 31.2 inches) in its standard printed size, reflecting the significance of the portrayed figure. Like my other recent portrait designs, this piece invites creativity to achieve a stunning result. For example, you can cut and dye the crown and garment separately or make the frame as artistic as you like. The final look can range from classical elegance to a bold, Andy Warhol-inspired style. The portrait is crafted by assembling individually cut wooden pieces onto a background panel, which measures 56.9 x 79.3 cm (22.4 x 31.2 inches). The pattern divides the image into several distinct main sections that must be cut separately and then glued onto the back panel. Ideally, the background should be a light wood tone, while the layered pieces are cut from a darker wood. This approach contrasts with traditional scroll saw portrait methods, which typically involve cutting dark portions out of a single board to form the image. By using separate layers, this method allows for enhanced creativity and depth, giving the portrait a more visually engaging and dynamic effect. To cut the pattern at its standard printed size, a scroll saw with an 18-inch (45 cm) throat is required. You may scale the pattern down, but keep in mind that small details will become more challenging to cut as the size decreases. Conversely, scaling up the pattern is also possible, though it will be limited by the cutting capacity of your scroll saw. Once assembled, framing the model will offer a more refined and elegant presentation. Please note that this pattern is registered and protected by copyright.
