226 - Victorian hexagonal box

This is a hexagonal box lavishly ornamented in Victorian style. Note its large size and the huge amount of inner cuts it features. In the image the box is shown with red felt behind the fretwork, which was a common practice in Victorian times to increase the visual effect of the object, but a project like this calls for the imagination and should be decorated in a bold and original way. This project will keep you busy for quite some time, but the result will become an attention point in any room.

This box has been designed to use 3/16 inches wood or 5 mm wood. By scaling the pattern appropriately any other wood thickness can also be used. These are the dimensions of the carriage depending on the wood thickness you use:

Height Diameter
3/16 inches wood 6.8 inches 18.2 inches
4 mm wood 14.5 cm 39 cm
5 mm wood 18.1 cm 49 cm
